The Artist and Author Bonnie Holden
I have been painting for as long as I can remember, and in the hope that people will recall a happy moment from their past, my pictures depict happy family life amidst a beautiful, ever-blooming Victorian America; a period of time I feel must have been very lovely. I attribute these happy families to my own childhood and later to my own wonderful family. I like to use luscious pinks, peaches, blues, and lavenders, and arrive at these by using a commercial illustration technique used while working as a commercial artist for a period of seven years following my art school training in New York City. One of the two greatest compliments ever paid to me occurred when, in a local newspaper article, my work was referred to as "Currier and Ives" of today. The other still occurs from time to time. A collector or customer will tell me that when looking at their pictures they have the sensation of having stepped right into them. Both compliments are hard to surpass. I am also very fortunate that my work has been purchased by people from all over the world and sold in 1800 shops throughout the country, and 5 of the fortune 500 companies, including Disney, Q. V. C. and Avon. This too is an honor for me. Another aspect of my work which I enjoy almost as much as the painting of the scenes is that of writing the stories about each picture. These stories are placed on the back of each picture in hope that they will bring a memory a little closer. My series is an ever-growing one with as many new scenes, as time permits, being added each year. Another feature of the finished product of which I am especially pleased, is the seal which we so proudly affix, "ALL AMERICAN MADE". We have been in business for 25 wonderful years, my husband Harry is the business side, and I am the creative side to all of this. Along with my very capable assistant Heather, and our reliable staff, all of this comes together. We give attention to detail and are extremely proud of our quality products, which we stand behind 100% for your satisfaction.
