"THE PARADE"

Everyone loves a parade, or so it seems, as the residents of these two Victorian homes get caught up in the celebration. Flags are flying from the many vantage points as children cram the front porch swing, hang out of the windows, wave from the balcony, the tower, and even the tree. The little chubby boy sitting on the curb with his balloon probably has the best view of all. The poor tuba player keeps in step all the while the dog keeps tugging at his pant leg. Everyone is enjoying the festivity, from the children to the adults, the parents on the front porch, the grandparents in the upstairs window, all except the young couple on the front porch that are so in love that they see none of the parade, but only the stars in each other's eyes.

"RECEPTION AT THE GREAT HOUSE"

A late sunny afternoon and the guests have arrived. The reception has begun. The hostess at the top of the steps prepares to descend to the lawn to greet her guests. Under a canopy of magnolias and wisteria, the ladies are enjoying strolling arm in arm with their gentlemen friends while a little seclusion is sought by the young couple in the background. A young girl hurries across the lawn, lifting her skirts, exposing her lacy petticoats and pantaloons, as she rushes to meet her yet unseen beau.

"REUNION IN THE PARK"

It is a beautiful day and young couples stroll hand in hand and the band plays on. An elderly couple stands before the bandstand swaying to the music, arms lovingly around each other, while perhaps remembering another band concert. Young love is also present. Notice the boy and girl shyly stealing their first kiss far away from the glances of the adults. And then we have the young bride fixing her new husband's tie. But celebrations are most enjoyed by children. Here we have the little boys playing marbles, the little brother gleefully chasing his sister, the children teaching the dog to fetch, and the little girl approaching with her freshly picked posies. All seem to be having a great day.
