"APRIL LOVE #2 MEETING STREET"

This house was built as a wedding gift for the lucky couple by the brides parents, while the grooms parents sent the couple on a two year honeymoon trip to Europe.

When they returned, the house was completed and the Queen Anne style had been chosen as the round areas were representative of the cake and the ornate trim, the frosting.  The local people still refer to this house as the "wedding cake house".

"VICTORIAN ELEGANCE"

The Victorian period was certainly the most elegant period in American history.   That elegance is depicted by the very elegant house with it's iron fence and flowering shrubs.  This is the background for the scene.  In the foreground, the elegance of the time is brought forth by the white horse and formal carriage.  The coachman patiently waits while the most elegant lady daintily lifts her skirt exposing a lovely leg amid a flurry of lace underskirts as she graciously descends from the carriage while being assisted by her admiring suitor.

This picture depicts a Victorian wedding, not unlike many weddings of today. The scene is one of the nation's oldest churches and the traditional mode of leaving the church was the horse-drawn carriage. The ceremony, now over, the wedding party gathers around for the departure. The little flower girl watching with admiration, possibly dreaming of the day when she will be a bride, while the junior bridesmaid lays her flowers on the ground and becomes better acquainted with the horse.
