"APRIL LOVE"

Built as a wedding gift for the lucky couple by the bride's parents, while the groom's parents sent the couple on a two-year honeymoon trip to Europe. When they returned, the house was completed. The Queen Anne style had been chosen so that the round areas were representative of the wedding cake and the ornate trim, the frosting. The local people still refer to this house as the "Wedding Cake House".

The Victorian period was certainly the most elegant period in American history. That elegance is depicted by the very elegant house with its iron fence and flowering shrubs. This is the background for the scene. In the foreground, the elegance of the time is brought forth by the white horse and formal carriage. The coachman patiently waits while the most elegant lady daintily lifts her skirt exposing a lovely leg amid a flurry of lace underskirts as she graciously descends from the carriage while being assisted by her admiring suitor.
